E-Biking and Mountain Biking
(E-)bike experiences around St. Anton am Arlberg
St. Anton am Arlberg is a popular area for bikers of all kinds. The well-signposted and marked route network extern covers a total of 220 km. And there’s something for every ability and taste: comfortable paths to cruise, slight inclines and steeper ones, leading to more challenging tours.
But any effort is rewarded again and again with a view of some of the most beautiful high valleys in the region, and with several cosy huts and alpine pastures inviting you to stop for a bite to eat and something refreshing to drink, this is a fabulous region to get on your bike...
Of course, a little electrical push up the hill goes a long way! And if you’ve ridden an e-bike before, you’re unlikely to want to ride anything else again. But if you’ve never experienced the power assisted beauty of an e-bike, you can, with our summer card, test ride an e-bike.
There are several (e-) mountain bike tours available in the St. Anton am Arlberg region. Many routes start at the Arlberg WellCom extern and are regularly signposted. You’ll find all the mountain bike routes in the St. Anton am Arlberg region on our Interactive map extern.
Our summer card also gives you a discount on tours with experienced guides, who offer various tours every day. Register and get these special offers, and more: Weekly Programme.
In order to spare you steep climbs up the mountain, the Arlberger Bergbahnen offer their own bike ticket. On the Rendlbahn and Galzigbahn, clean bikes are allowed in the gondola, and bike washing areas are available at the valley stations. Bike transport is free for holders of a valid summer or premium summer card.
This demanding shared trail for mountain bikers leads over the eastern slope to St. Anton am Arlberg and offers wonderful views of Stanzertal and the surrounding mountains. Riding is on gravel, forest trails and asphalt, and the trail ends at the Museum St. Anton. You can travel with your clean bike in the Galzigbahn gondola up to the beginning of the trail.
The route to the Heilbronner Hütte, which was expanded in 2019, is particularly attractive. It’s 20 kilometres long and has a difference of 1,600 metres in altitude to overcome on asphalt or gravel paths. In addition, the route can be combined with tours to the Paznauntal, Stanzertal or Montafon. For this more difficult, but beautiful bike tour, we recommend using an e-bike.
A particularly beautiful route leads bikers along the Rosanna River from St. Anton am Arlberg to Schnann. The cycle path is paved throughout, so is particularly suitable for families with small children. It’s planned to expand the trail in the next few years to Wiesberg, where it will meet the Paznaun cycle path.
