Event tipp - Arlberger Wadlbeisser
If you're looking for that special something in trail running, you'll find it at the Arlberger Wadlbeisser. This spectacular obstacle course race in St. Anton am Arlberg combines demanding trails with handcrafted obstacles bearing names like “Haxenbrenner” or “Affenschaukel”, and delivers real team action – ideal for lone warriors, corporate crews, or fun teams in crazy outfits.
Route suggestions:
Antoniusweg - 4,3 km - 62 m vertical
A gentle trail with stunning views of St. Anton am Arlberg. Ideal for beginners and a perfect warm-up run.
Rosannaschlucht - 6,3 km - 140 m vertical
An idyllic trail follows the rushing Rosanna towards Verwall. On the way back, you pass through an artistic tunnel, the Mühltobel Gorge and the Museum St. Anton extern.
Maienweg - 6,1 km - 550 m vertical
A challenging trail leads beneath the Galzig cable car to the Sennhütte. Continue through the "Wunderwald" to Maienwasen and ascend in switchbacks to Maiensee. The destination is St. Christoph, with multiple return options available.
Stöcklweg - 6 km - 400 m vertical
A steep ascent through dense forest leads to the Pettneu spring. The route continues past a wildlife feeding area on a narrow root trail to the historic Nessler Thaja – a cultural heritage site with a rich farming history. Return via the Nessleralm on the forest road or take the Franz-Kurz Trail.
Alpenrosenweg - 18,2 km - 980 m vertical
Starting at the Rendlbahn valley station, the trail leads past the waterfall to St. Jakob. Continue on the hiking path to the Rendlalm and follow the Alpenrose Trail to the Rendl mountain station. The return route goes through the Moostal valley along the forest road and hiking path back to St. Anton am Arlberg.
Berggeistweg - 15,1 km - 712 m vertical
From St. Christoph, the trail climbs steeply to the first Albona Lake. A solitary path on the Verwall side leads into the Albona ski area. After crossing Albona, the Kaltenberg Hut offers a welcoming rest stop. Return via the Paul-Bantlin Trail with breathtaking views of the Verwall, Klostertal, and the Flexen Pass road.
