(E-)bike ervaringen rond St. Anton am Arlberg
Er op uit in de natuur, van vroeg tot laat. Zo luidt het ongeschreven motto voor het zomerverblijf in St. Anton am Arlberg. Op gezonde hoogte zijn sportactiviteiten optimaal met recreatie en ontspanning te combineren. Hier vindt men precies datgene, wat men zoekt. Men moet slechts de eerste stap doen ... en dan de volgende ... en de volgende.
Waarmerk verplicht: St. Anton am Arlberg, dat in de zomer van 2001 met het trekkerwaarmerk van de deelstaat Tirol is onderscheiden, biedt voortaan ook een loop- en mountainbikeroutenet aan, dat de moeite waard is.
In totaal wachten de bergfietsers ca. 220 kilometer landschappelijk bijzonder aantrekkelijke paden. Alle routes zijn prima bewegwijzerd en gemarkeerd.
Biken in de bergen rondom St. Anton – Meer dan 3.800 kilometer officiële mountainbike-routes maken Tirol tot een eerste klas bikergebied. Natuurlijk hoort St. Anton am Arlberg daar ook bij. De "Beste van de Alpen"-toerismeplaats biedt eenmountainbike-routenet dat zeer de moeite waard is met in totaal ca. 220 kilometer bijzonder aantrekkelijke paden. Alle routes zijn uitstekend bewegwijzerd, gemarkeerd en in landschappelijke zin een waar genot!!
De markeringen zijn in heel Tirol uniform en geven de moeilijkheidsgraad aan – zoals bij skipistes.
Bergfietsers vinden rondom St. Anton am Arlberg iets voor elke smaak: gemakkelijke paden voor de beginners midden tussen sappige weiden en schaduwrijke bossen, terughoudend en selectief met lichte hellingen en sportieve eisen, maar ook steile routes voor de geharde bikers.

Maar niet alleen biken, ook de nieuwe bewegingsvormen zoals "Nordic walking" – het wandelen met superlichte sportstokken - of zelfs voor de berglopers en triathleten, staan deze routes open.
In order to spare you steep climbs up the mountain, the Arlberger Bergbahnen offer their own bike ticket. On the Rendlbahn and Galzigbahn, clean bikes are allowed in the gondola, and bike washing areas are available at the valley stations. Bike transport is free for holders of a valid summer or premium summer card.
This demanding shared trail for mountain bikers leads over the eastern slope to St. Anton am Arlberg and offers wonderful views of Stanzertal and the surrounding mountains. Riding is on gravel, forest trails and asphalt, and the trail ends at the Museum St. Anton. You can travel with your clean bike in the Galzigbahn gondola up to the beginning of the trail.
The route to the Heilbronner Hütte, which was expanded in 2019, is particularly attractive. It’s 20 kilometres long and has a difference of 1,600 metres in altitude to overcome on asphalt or gravel paths. In addition, the route can be combined with tours to the Paznauntal, Stanzertal or Montafon. For this more difficult, but beautiful bike tour, we recommend using an e-bike.
A particularly beautiful route leads bikers along the Rosanna River from St. Anton am Arlberg to Schnann. The cycle path is paved throughout, so is particularly suitable for families with small children. It’s planned to expand the trail in the next few years to Wiesberg, where it will meet the Paznaun cycle path.
E-bike charging stations
In the St. Anton am Arlberg region there are five charging stations available for enthusiastic e-bike riders. You’ll find them at

- St. Anton am Arlberg Tourism Association
- Pettneu - at the Wellnesspark
- Flirsch - at the Hotel Basur
These are fast charging stations, which mean empty batteries can be charged to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Four bikes can be connected to each station at the same time, and 11 different cables are available for the different connections.
H2o ebike academy
The ‘local guides’ of the H2o ebike academy extern lead their groups to the most secret and beautiful places in the Tirolean Oberland and inspire their riders to so many different levels of difficulty!
The guides from the H2o ebike academy impart important basic knowledge to their riders: safe behaviour in special riding situations, correct braking and effective shifting. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced rider, the academy offers rider safety training, company outings, school trips, incentives, personal e-bike training, and much more.

Top suppliers of the industry present their latest e-Mountainbikes, products and developments at the Arlberg WellCom extern in St. Anton am Arlberg. E-mountain bikers of all ages, and anyone who has interest in becoming one, will have the opportunity to test the latest models during a bike tour through St. Anton and the Stanzer valley. Even the last electro-sceptic will be turned into an e-fan.
