St. Anton am Arlberg
relies on e-Mobility
June 2026
The St. Anton am Arlberg Tourism Association will continue its successful e-scooter project throughout summer and autumn 2026. The initiative aims to further reduce local traffic, promote climate-neutral mobility, and expand the public transport offering for residents, guests, and employees.
Rules when using e-Scooters
-
Maximum speed: 25 km/h
-
Helmet requirement: Children under the age of 16 must wear a protective helmet when riding an e-scooter.
-
Please wear a helmet when riding an e-scooter or bicycle. While this is not legally required for adults, it is strongly recommended for your own safety.
-
Mandatory equipment: E-scooters must be equipped with indicators (turn signals), a bell, brakes, reflectors, and lights.
-
Alcohol limit: 0.5‰ (blood alcohol concentration)
-
Passenger transport: Only one person is permitted to ride an e-scooter. Carrying passengers or transporting goods is not allowed.
-
Parking: Rental e-scooters must be parked in designated parking areas.
-
Prohibited: Driving on or crossing pavements, sidewalks and protection routes is strictly prohibited.
-
Permitted: If there is a cycle path, it must be used. Driving on a lane/road is permitted if there is no cycle lane.
-
In principle, e-scooters shouldn't be used on sidewalks and pedestrian areas. An e-scooter may be used in pedestrian zones, residential streets and meeting areas – but at a speed adapted to pedestrian traffic.
-
Driving e-scooters on one-way roads/lanes is allowed wherever cyclists are permitted to do so.
-
Never ride an e-scooter with another person. However, you may invite other users to join you by starting a “group ride”, allowing each person to use their own e-scooter.
-
Please note the road traffic regulations and the rules applicable in Austria for the use of e-scooters.
These regulations are intended to improve road safety and reduce accidents. It is important to familiarize yourself with the current rules and ensure that the e-scooter complies with all applicable legal requirements.
In summer, around 50 dott Mobility extern e-scooters -which has been operating climate-neutral mobility since 2020, will be available to guests and locals in the St. Anton am Arlberg municipality in order to counteract the increasing inner-village traffic.
