The Arlberg ski area extern covers a total of around 50 km² (including open ski areas), and extends over more than 1,500 metres of altitude difference to its highest point, the Valluga peak (2,811 m). There are more than 300 km of marked ski runs. In addition, there are around 200 km of off-piste skiing for skiers to enjoy. The longest downhill run, at 9 km, with a descent of 1,350 metres, leads from Valluga via Ulmerhütte to St. Anton am Arlberg. With snowboard fun parks, carving areas, permanent race tracks and many gemütliche (cosy) mountain bars, cafes and restaurants to rendezvous in, the Arlberg offers all the very best ingredients for an enjoyable and memorable winter vacation.
Awards - Ski Arlberg
The ADAC ski guide has once again chosen Ski Arlberg as the ‘ski area of absolute superlatives’, and placed it at the top of its list in the ‘Alpine Ski’ category. In the 2020 edition of the almanac, well over 200 destinations in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and elsewhere were analyzed.
Skiinfo awarded Ski Arlberg its ‘Best Ski Area in Austria’, after it won in seven categories. Ski Arlberg also took first place in the categories ‘Best Freeride Area’, ‘Best Snowpark’ and ‘Best Service & Best Cable Cars’.
The world's largest test portal of ski resorts, skiresort.de awarded the Arlberg ski resort 19 awards. These included the ‘5-star ski resort’. Go to skiresort.de extern to see the other awards.
St. Anton am Arlberg won the 2018 Reader's Choice Award of Ski Magazine. The Arlberg ski resort took first place and was voted favourite resort in Europe.
In 2018, the Arlberg ski resort was once again awarded test winner in the categories ‘5-star ski resort’ and ‘Expert, Freerider’ by the world's largest test portal of ski resorts. Go to skiresort.de extern for more on other awards.
In 2018, Ski Arlberg was awarded the SnowTrex Award. SnowTrex customers receive a questionnaire after their trip, the answers to which serve as the basis for the award. The Arlberg ski resort achieved top marks from these guest questionnaires.
