Covid19 – Safety measures

Dear guests,

due to the current Covid-19 situation and the resulting negative impact on the intensive care units, the Austrian federal government has introduce a nationwide lockdown from Monday November 22nd to limit the fourth Covid-19 wave in Austria. The restriction in force apply to the entire population in all regions until December 12th. Of course, the entire holiday region of St. Anton am Arlberg and the Arlberger Bergbahnen will begin the ski season as soon as circumstances allow.

What is important to know:

  • Lockdown: The general lockdown comes into force on Monday, 22 November. The lockdown ends for vaccinated people on December 12th. For all unvaccinated people, the lockdown will continue to apply.
  • All-day curfew: The lockdown is implemented through a general, all-day curfew. Home may only be left in exceptional circumstances (travel to work, meeting basic needs such as grocery shopping, outdoor recreation, caring for people in need of support and averting danger). A general recommendation for home office applies.
  • Closure: Retail, catering, cultural and event sectors will be closed. Detailed regulations on the hotel industry and leisure facilities are not yet available. Schools and kindergartens will remain open.
  • FFP2 mask obligation: With the lockdown, a general FFP2 mask obligation comes into force in all closed rooms - also at the workplace.

Due to the Covid-19 infection rates across Europe, Germany has added several EU countries - including Austria - on the list of high-risk areas. Non-vaccinated German tourists holidaying in Austria must observe stricter entry regulations when driving back home to Germany.

Contact-Tracing

The rapid tracing of an identified COVID 19 outbreak is very important. The registration of visitors to Tirolean restaurants is mandatory, and the region of St. Anton am Arlberg ensures this registration takes place in compliance with data protection regulations.

In this context, we strongly recommend you download the ‘Stopp Corona-App’ of the Austrian Federal Government and the Austrian Red Cross, to enable contact tracing outside of individual companies’ own tracing methods.

SAFE SERVICE

Safe hospitality comes first, which is why the Tirolean Chamber of Commerce (Tourism and Leisure Industry Division) launched the SAFE SERVICE initiative. It enables our companies to clearly demonstrate their employees are trained in matters of legal regulations, necessary measures and the correct handling of these. Targeted further and advanced training ensures that employees of Safe Hospitality are always up to date. Certification as a Safe Service company only takes place after proof of the required knowledge. St. Anton am Arlberg Tourist Association has been SAFE SERVICE certified since October 2020.
