St. Christoph am Arlberg

Spring. Summer. Autumn. Winter.

At around 1,800 meters, St. Christoph am Arlberg is among the highest Alpine ski resorts. For such a small village, it has a long history. The shepherd, Heinrich Findelkind extern, built a hospice for weather-stricken hikers here in the 14th century, laying the foundation for the charitable brotherhood of St. Christoph extern, which now has almost 20,000 members worldwide. The hospice, which today is a well-known hotel, was the founding place of the Ski-Club Arlberg extern in 1901. And the ultra-modern and sensuous arlberg1800 Contemporary Art and Concert Hall offers culture with attitude at an unparalleled altitude.

Relaxed mountain summer

In summer, St. Christoph is the starting point for various hiking routes, such as the Berggeistweg extern, Jakobsweg, or the Adlerweg. Those seeking relaxation enjoy the peace and quiet of the Maiensee, or hike up to Galzig, or via Senn's WunderWanderWeg down to St. Anton am Arlberg.

Winter enjoyment at 1,800 metres

St. Christoph am Arlberg combines Alpine charm with a long tradition in Austrian skiing. It is home to the Ski Austria Academy extern, a renowned, long-established training centre for state-certified ski instructors and coaches.

Numerous sun terraces at hotels and mountain huts invite visitors to relax and enjoy the winter mountain scenery surrounding the village. At around 1,800 metres above sea level, a high-altitude cross-country ski trail and a sunny winter hiking trail also provide opportunities to enjoy active time away from the ski slopes.
