The Stanton Ski Open 2026 in St. Anton am Arlberg marks the official start of the winter season from December 4 to 6 – with a three-day festival full of highlights.

Look forward to free ski and snowboard testing, live music on three stages, food trucks, and a fantastic party atmosphere. A lecture on avalanche awareness and the Arlberg Safety Camp provides important insights into off-piste mountain safety.

 

The ski area will already kick off the winter season on Wednesday, December 2, 2026.

Admission to the festival area is free!

Arlberg Safety Days

 

On Sunday, 6 December 2026, everything will focus on safety in open terrain. Under the motto ‘Be there – for yourself, for others, for a safe Arlberg’, winter sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and gain practical experience.

Avalanche Rescue with the Mountain Rescue Team

  

Learn from experienced members of the mountain rescue service how to behave correctly off-piste:

 

  • Lecture on avalanche awareness
  • Overview of equipment & snow science

  • Correct behaviour during and after an avalanche

  • Practical training with avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel (Please bring your own equipment)

  • First aid and care for a buried victim

Travel and Parking

 

By car:

Parking is available at the Terminal Ost extern car park. From there, you can reach the festival grounds in just a few minutes on foot.

 

By public transport:

The festival grounds are just a few minutes' walk from St. Anton am Arlberg railway station.
